BRATISLAVA (TASR) - Preparations for the European Under-21 Football Championship in Slovakia (June 11-28) have entered their final phase. The organizing team reported on the readiness of eight stadiums and the great interest in individual matches at the final tournament.
The best players in Europe will perform in Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Dunajská Streda, Žilina, Trenčín, Košice and Prešov during June. As reported by the General Secretary of the Slovak Football Association Peter Palenčík, the last available capacities for individual matches have been released for sale. Currently, approximately 235-thousand tickets have been sold, and more than 80 percent of stadiums are expected to be occupied during the European Under-21 Championship.
The championship with 16 participants in the final tournament will be hosted by one country alone for the first time ever. The opening match is scheduled for June 11 at 6:00 p.m., Slovakia will play against Spain at the National Football Stadium in Bratislava. You can find an overview of the matches HERE.
